Who We Are
Nestled in the heart of Middlesex County, New Jersey is a City rich with a history of Industrial Arts that included the finest ornamental terracotta and pottery centered on Swan Hill.
Today, South Amboy ARTS revolutionizes the downtown and opens its arms to artists, musicians, craftspeople, innovators and dreamers. We invite creativity and we nurture a positive arts and business environment that celebrates our history and leads us into the future.
You won’t find chain stores or cookie-cutter arts venues. What you will discover are the re-purposed buildings and transformed spaces that pulsate with music, art, film, and food, supported by a vibrant community in love with the arts.
Designated in 2016 by the City of South Amboy, the Arts District is a fast-growing initiative that enhances the quality of life for the community and stimulates economic redevelopment. It includes venues such as the Broadway Gallery, The Concourse at NJ Transit Train Station, South Amboy Community Theater, and other arts spaces throughout the District.
South Amboy ARTS is managed by The Media and Performance Collective, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation.
